Founded in 2003, M-Space is the first public-access glassblowing facility in Tacoma.

M-Space’s primary purpose is to provide a high-quality glassblowing facility to professional glassblowers. Every week, about 30 glassblowers rent M-Space’s hot shop on an hourly basis to create their own artwork. These artists come from as far away as Seattle, Camano Island, Bellingham, and Olympia, as well as from Tacoma, including young graduates of the Hilltop Artist-in-Residence program.

M-Space holds classes for beginner, intermediate, and advanced glassblowers, taught by glass professionals from around the country. More than 100 people, ranging from teens to seniors, have learned to blow glass at M-Space since its opening.
